Holiday in Italy: all year round
Is Italy only a holiday destination for the summer? Certainly not! Italy is a popular and versatile holiday destination all year round. How about a city trip to Rome in the fall or a visit to the Christmas markets in Turin in December? On the north side of the country are the Alps; a perfect ski area. Other popular destinations include Lake Garda, Lake Como and Lake Maggiore, all of which are located in the north of Italy. In the south you have the 'undiscovered' regions and the great Sicily.
Travel to Italy
Italy has the great advantage that you can be there within a day by car. The north of Italy with the popular Italian lakes is easy to drive for Dutch and Belgians. If you don't feel like a day in the car or if you want to discover Italy further south, you can of course also book a flight and rent a car. There are direct flights to all major Italian cities and you can get there within 2 to 3 hours of net flight time. Check the offers for airline tickets (and also those for car rental) in advance. With this you can save many tens and sometimes hundreds of euros.
Classics and new destinations for your holiday in Italy
Then there is of course Tuscany, traditionally the most popular region among the Dutch. Naturally you will find a lot of information about the art cities and landscapes in Tuscany on this site. But Italy has so much more to offer for a perfect holiday. For example, a huge amount of medieval towns that tell the story of ancient Italy.
And then there are the 'all time classics' such as Rome, Florence, Milan, Naples, Pisa and Venice. And then we haven't even mentioned the 'untouched' and rugged south of the country, which is only at the beginning of its tourist development. You can also read nice (travel) stories on DitIsItalie.nl about, for example, Apulia (Puglia) and Basilicata.

Culture or sun holiday? Relax or be active? Good food and drink? Camping or in a hotel? It is precisely the versatility of this country that ensures that everyone will find the holiday or trip to his liking in Italy. In fact, you don't have to go anywhere else for any holiday than Italy!
