Trentino-South Tyrol
Trentino-South Tyrol (Trentino-Süd-Tirol or Alto Adige) is a region in the north of Italy, which also includes the Dolomites. In winter the region turns into a true ski paradise, but in summer it is also worth a visit. Trentino is the Italian-speaking part (on the south side), Alto Adige or Südtirol (South Tyrol) is the German-speaking part (on the north side).
South Tyrol is the northernmost province of Italy and lies partly in the Alps and partly in the beautiful mountain landscape of the Dolomites. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, South Tyrol is a good area for practicing various outdoor sports.
In Italy's northernmost region, Alpine traditions go hand in hand with a Mediterranean lifestyle, cultural diversity and the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
Trentino-South Tyrol is a region full of contrasts: from Alpine peaks to southern atmospheres, from cosmopolitan openness to deeply rooted traditions. It is the diversity and harmony of contrasts that make this region so special.
