Lombardy
Lombardy (Lombardia in Italian) is a prosperous region in northern Italy, of which Milan is the capital. The region is the economic heart of Italy and has the most population.
The largest city in Lombardy is Milan, which is one of the most modern cities in Italy. Some also say that Milan is the most European city in Italy. Milan is also one of the leading fashion cities, home to designers such as Versace and Armani. Many Dutch people also live in this region.
The most famous northern Italian lakes are located in Lombardy. Lake Maggiore, Lake Como and Lake Garda are real tourist attractions.
Other places of interest in Lombardy are the Monza Circuit and the beautiful Piazza Duomo in the heart of Milan.
