Van Eijkeren writes travel stories. He previously wrote about his experiences during a long drive through Germany, during a trip over the West (Suriname, Aruba and the Antilles), about Belgium ('what is The Big Problem of Belgium) and about South Africa.

With his passion for good food, a book about the country where gastronomy was invented could not be missed. The writer's plan is simple: he gets into his black Fiat Grande Punto and allows himself to be sent to 'the best restaurant' on the basis of tips and advice from the local population. All guides and lists are hereby ignored, only the word of the Italians themselves counts.
