Every February in Italy, the Festival di San Remo (also written as Festival di Sanremo) is held in the town of the same name on the coast in Liguria. Also known for its beautiful flowers.
This year the 66th edition of this beloved national Italian song festival and the whole of Italy has been turned upside down for months before that time. Every year it is exciting again who the presenter will be and especially which beautiful co-presenter he will have by his side. And preferably a well-shaped lady, of course. The eye wants something too.

This is very much alive among the Italian population, where beauty, fashion and other appearances are highly valued (fare bella figura) and are interwoven in the culture. Not crazy in the cradle of the high fashion and design of course. The speculations therefore start early and are widely reported in the media.
Before the Festival di San Remo, when the co-host has finally been announced, discussions have already started about what she will wear during the festival. In the daily talk show on Rai Uno – Live Life – experts are flown in who are happy to share their comments on this with a large viewing audience.
Every day during the festival week, the outfit and the looks of the co-presenter and in particular the participating singers are put under a magnifying glass and discussed. In passing, there is also talk about the participating singers, who play the actual leading role in this event.
It's always a pleasure to see how the mood can rise a lot during Live Life. There will also be a live switch to the red carpet in San Remo at the Ariston Theater, where a journalist poses questions to participants and audience.
San Remo as a springboard
The Festival di San Remo has been the springboard to international fame for Eros Ramazzotti, Andrea Bocelli and Laura Pausini, among others. For years, the winner was allowed to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest with the winning song.
San Remo is the place to be: there is a live orchestra, many national and international guests (including guest singers) are flown in and for five evenings the large hall is packed with regulars and BI'ers (Famous Italians). Which, of course, are showing off in full regalia and are regularly portrayed.
So it is a wonderful, relaxed and evening-filling program for a week to just watch and listen quietly with your mind at zero and a nice bowl of chips on your lap. Because let's be honest: the singing quality is also of a high class.
