Elisa is pregnant and goes to the hospital because of a bleeding. She is told that the baby is all right… but not herself. Due to an incurable tumor, she will never see her daughter grow up. Elisa makes sure that baby Anna gets a gift for each of her until her 18th birthday. But when Anna wants to escape from the presents when she is 18, she is hit by a car… A drama like this can easily derail, but director Francesco Amato knows how to keep it small and fairly light-hearted.

L'ultimo paradise is a new Italian movies on Netflix. The film makes you dream away to the Puglia of the 50s. The story is about a farmer who wants to improve the situation of other farm workers. But during his struggle, he falls in love with a landowner's daughter. He finds himself caught between his dream for a better life and his love for Bianca.

Incidentally, this is a film that you can best miss. He gets a measly 5,4 on IMDb. But the beautiful pictures of the Pugliese landscape make up for a lot for the Italy lover.
